Orange County Public Schools
The Alamance-Burlington School System (ABSS) is a comprehensive school district serving Alamance County, including the municipalities of Burlington, Graham, Elon, Haw River, Green Level, and Mebane. The system was formed in 1996 with the merger of the former Burlington City and Alamance County school systems, and currently serves approximately 22,500 students in 35 schools. Alamance-Burlington and its board of education are committed to providing the highest quality of education in a safe and secure learning environment for all students while maintaining fiscal responsibility and accountability to the citizens of Alamance County.
The Orange County School System is comprised of 6 elementary schools, 4 middle schools and 3 high schools. The Orange County School System believes that excellent communities and excellent schools go hand in hand. The quality of our school district is a major contributor to the lifestyle we all enjoy here in Orange County.Studies show that communities with high- achieving schools have higher property values, lower crime rates, better overall health, stronger values, and a better quality of life.
Chapel Hill Carrboro Schools
The Chapel Hill Carrboro public school system has over 10 campuses. Although Chapel Hill and Carrboro are separate towns run by different governments, they share one superb school system. Residential districts for elementary and junior high tudents determine the school of enrollment. All high school students attend one of two highly-rated high schools. Attendance zones are revised when necessary to maintain enrollment balance. The district includes some of the area surrounding the city limits. Students outside the district attend schools in Orange, Durham or Chatham counties.
Guilford County Schools
GCS is the third largest school district in North Carolina serving more than 71,000 students. The second largest employer in a 12-county area, GCSʼ more than 10,000 full- and part-time employees enthusiastically share the districtʼs mission, which is; GCS will graduate responsible citizens prepared to succeed in higher education or the career of their choice.
Durham Public Schools
The Durham Public School District serves all of Durham County as well as the City of Durham. The Durham public school system has over 43 campuses. It is the sixth-largest system in the state and next to Wake County, the fastest-growing system in North Carolina. All schools are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
